Vitamin C Oil Protecting Your Skin From the Effects of Aging
Vitamin C is a powerful antioxidant. The vitamin stimulates collagen production, offers protection from the sun and aids in reducing free radicals. Much like an apple that browns after being exposed to air and sunlight, free radicals damage the skin’s DNA, its proteins, and fats.
Vitamin C protects the skin in a variety of ways. It improves skin texture, reduces brown spots, decreases, and helps prevent wrinkle formation. Vitamin C, however, must penetrate the skin to reduce free radical damage.
Once absorbed into the skin, this water-soluble vitamin can also help regenerate vitamin E that has been oxidized. Vitamin E is a potent lipid-soluble antioxidant that is important for preventing oxidative damage in the lipid cell membrane.
Vitamin C Fight Hyper-pigmentation
Vitamin C is frequently overlooked as an ingredient to help fight hyperpigmentation. It will inhibit the enzyme tyrosinase, so it helps prevent melanin production.
Vitamin C in Acne Prevention
A balanced intake of vitamin C and other antioxidants such as vitamin A and vitamin E essentially keeps the skin healthy. It particularly acts upon the acne and pimple causing bacteria on the face. Vitamin C is found in fruits and vegetables, especially those with dark colors. Acne lotions and creams that contain vitamin C oil are most effective in treating acne. With deficiency of vitamin C the skin of face turns dry and flaky.
