Acne bites. But there’s one thing worse than the dreaded breakout: the marks that get left behind. A nasty breakout can last for a week or two, but red marks and acne scars can last for weeks, months, and even years.
Not my cup of tea! But this simple homemade serum recipe can support the health of your skin so you can watch those marks fade away.
Ingredients for Acne Scars and Red Marks
1 tablespoon jojoba oil (I buy my carrier oil HERE)
3 drops Frankincense essential oil (I buy my essential oils HERE)
3 drops Lavender essential oil (I buy my essential oils HERE)
3 drops Lemon essential oil (I buy my essential oils HERE)
1. Pour jojoba oil and essential oils into glass dropper bottle.
2. Put the lid on the bottle tightly and give it a little shake to mix up the oils.
3. Shake gently before using. Apply every evening after cleansing. Use 2-3 drops and massage gently into the skin.
Why These Ingredients
Jojoba Oil: This moisturizing oil tends to be well tolerated even by those with acne-prone and sensitive skin. It’s a wonderful oil for facial care recipes, but if you have another oil you prefer to use one your face, that can work with this recipe, too.
Frankincense Essential Oil: Frankincense is an intensely healing and restorative oil known for its ability to prevent and heal scars and stretch marks. It’s perfect for fighting the marks left behind by acne.
Lavender Essential Oil: Lavender is calming and soothing to the skin. It fights redness and aids in the healing of scars.
Lemon Essential Oil: Lemon is a brightening oil that can help fade dark spots and red marks.
