The Benefits of Chamomile Essential Oil
Chamomile is an ingredient that is included in general skin care products that are used in the treatment of inflammation and irritation among other forms of rashes and skin conditions. When used topically in skin care it is typically found in products that sooth the skin, particularly emollient preparations which additionally target inflammation. This is because Chamomile’s composition promote granulation and cell regeneration.
Chamomile is good for dry, red, hot and sensitive skin and is said to have anti-allergic properties. In skin care preparations it is used for teething babies, toothache, acne and boils, allergies and rashes, earache, inflammations, dermatitis, eczema, cuts, wounds and as a lightener for blonde hair.
Chamomile also balances sebum production and is useful for both oily and dry hair and scalp conditions, as well as sensitive skin types. It is often used in skin care for treating burns and cuts.
You’ll also find it accompanying emollients and moisturizers in night creams that restore and hydrate the skin as well as in acne cleansers and treatments for wrinkles and fine lines.
How To Use Chamomile Essential Oil
Colic, colitis, and liver or spleen congestion, add 5-8 drops to 10 drops of Almond oil and massage on body. Can also add 8-10 drops to bath water or a few drops to a diffuser.
Headache or migraine, use 2-3 drops in a hot or cold compress (whichever works best for you).
Insomnia, use 5-6 drops in a diffuser. Can also place 2-3 drops on a tissue, and place inside your pillow before bedtime. Replace nightly. For added benefit, add lavender oil to the mix.
Help lessen the effects of menopause on the body, add 8 drops to 10 drops of Lavender oil and massage on body regularly. Can also add a few drops to a diffuser nightly, and 8-10 drops to bath water.
Sensitive skin, dilute one drop of chamomile with 3 drops of Almond oil, and dab on skin.

4 tablespoons sea salt
2 tablespoons baking soda
8 drops tangerine essential oil
8 drops lavender essential oil
8 drops chamomile essential oil
Mix dry ingredients, sprinkle with oils and mix until fully incorporated. Add desired amount to bath water.
