Hangnails DIY Homemade Remedies

Hangnails DIY Homemade Remedies
Hangnails are pretty common appearances. Hangnails are triangular shaped bits of skin that tear off. Dry skin and soaking hands in water for long hours can give you hangnails. Besides, biting nails is a common cause of hangnails. At the same time, hangnails may be caused by bad manicures and exposure to harmful chemicals.

Nutritional deficiencies also contribute to hangnails. Although the problem is not paid due attention, it can lead to serious bacterial and fungal infections that may result in excessive swelling, pain and redness. A good number of home remedies help in curing hangnails.

Here is a list of the best home remedies for hangnails and how to use them.

Vitamin E Oil

Vitamin E oil is one of the most effective remedies for hangnails as it softens and moistens the nail beds. Plus, vitamin E facilitates healing of the skin tear.

Apply pure vitamin E oil on the problem area and leave it on until it is absorbed completely. Reapply several times a day until you get rid of your hangnails.
Another option is to combine vitamin E oil with another oil like olive oil , castor oil or jojoba oil and apply it daily.

To prevent hangnails, put a drop of vitamin E oil on your nail beds after clipping your nails.

Honey works as a great moisturizing agent. Being a natural humectant, it attracts and retains moisture.

Plus, it has antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties that fight infection and reduce inflammation. Manuka honey, in particular, has potent antimicrobial properties.

Dab raw or manuka honey on the affected area and leave it on for several hours to soften the cuticles. Do this daily until you get rid of the problem.
You can also apply honey on a regular basis to prevent hangnails.

Avocado Oil

Avocado oil is rich in vitamin E, healthy fats and other nutrients that help nourish and heal your skin. It also acts as a humectant for your skin.

To prevent and cure hangnails, put a drop of Avocado oil on your nail beds. Do this daily or three or four times a week on a regular basis.

Along with these remedies, take some preventive measures as well to avoid hangnails. For example, keep your nail beds moisturized, avoid overworking in water (causes dryness), and get regular manicures from a good manicurist.

Also, eat a nutritious diet rich in vitamin B, calcium and iron to encourage nail strength. Hangnails are often caused by weak nail beds. Needless to say, resist the urge to bite off your hangnails or pick at them as it may cause further skin tearing and increase the risk of infection.

Do Your Eyes Make You Look Older

Do Your Eyes Make You Look Older 1

Aging Begin to Emerge Around Your Eyes

Although wrinkles, fine lines or crow’s feet prematurely age the face, to have old looking eyes can make your entire face look tired, old and haggard.

The eyes are the main focus of the face and also the first thing that people look at when meeting you – this is a major part of the “mental picture” they immediately form about you.

There are many contributing factors that can be the cause of old looking eyes, and although genetics can play a part, this is not the main cause of this problem.

It is therefore a good idea to have a smooth young-looking skin surrounding the eyes – this helps to create a more youthful appearance.

Sometimes it is a sign of nothing more than just a plain lack of sleep and exhaustion. This is usually remedied by a good night’s rest.

The skin around your eye area is the thinnest and most fragile skin found on the entire body, and must always be treated with the utmost care. The periorbital skin is about 0.55 mm thick, while skin on the rest of the face is about 2 mm thick.

Dark under-eye circles are equally found in men and women. They usually occur in adults, although children can also have dark circles under their eyes.

As we age the skin starts to thin. Since the skin around the eyes is very thin to start-off with, aging makes the problem even more noticeable.

In aging, the collagen in the skin becomes thinner and it is not as resilient – therefore it is a good idea to start fighting premature skin aging as soon as possible. If skin care has been lacking in the past, all isn’t lost.

If you use a good skin care product formulated for the eye area, great improvement will be noted. In most cases dark circles are caused by the lymphatic drainage being compromised (see info below) and when the skin thins, this problem becomes even more visible.

When you get older, an enzymatic reaction called “Glycation” occurs. This causes a domino effect – oxidation of the cells, cross-linking (aging),and hardening of the elastic collagen and elastin fibers.

This all contributes to the formation of eye bags. The health of the blood vessels is of utmost importance in fighting dark circles under the eyes. Fragile blood vessels (capillary permeability) will cause fluid to leak into the surrounding area, causing puffy eyes.

When looking for a cream or gel to combat this problem ensure that it will multi-task. In other words – it must help improve lymphatic drainage, strengthen blood vessels, boost collagen production and look after elastin fibers.

Best Natural Oils to Stimulate Hair Growth

Best Natural Oils to Stimulate Hair Growth
Hair loss and baldness happens for a variety of reasons, and since some of these reasons, like your genetic programming, cannot be helped by any external lotions or creams, nor any supplements, it would be a waste of time and money to spend a fortune on rubbing a variety of compounds into your scalp, or to fill your body with equally expensive supplements.

Age also plays its part in the balding arena and so do fevers, high stress levels, illness, thyroid problems etc.

Tricologists, people studying tricology – the science of hair growth – have used various ingredients to help hair growth along, but some have also taken note of the effect that certain essential oils can have on regenerating hair follicles to a certain extent.

For those suffering from hair loss problems, you can find natural products that are less expensive and have a better success rate. Familiarize yourself with the different essential oils and their uses. The key to success with essential oils in hair growth is persistence. It may take up to seven months to see results, so don’t give up too soon.

Let me recommend you to this special blend oil to restore
baldness or hair growth.

Lavender Oil is used for many purposes one of which is hair loss. Several smaller studies have shown that individuals suffering from alopecia (hair loss) who massaged their heads daily with lavender and other essential oils had significant hair re-growth over the course of seven months.

Thyme Oil is used to promote hair growth by improving circulation to the scalp through massage. Thyme provides hair with shine, luster and bounce.

Coconut Oil is excellent for nourishing hair and helping it have a beautiful shine. Massaging coconut oil into the scalp ensures that the hair is free of lice, lice eggs and dandruff and helps with the nourishment and re-growth of damaged hair.
